Libraries
Update on the Main Library: The main library downtown is closed for renovation until about 2017. Most of the material from the main library is now located in a warehouse at 44th & South Sheridan. Any item that was housed in the main library, other than reference materials, can be obtained by requesting the item at a branch library. Reference materials may still be accessed but due to the functional and safety limitations of the warehouse browsing isn't allowed, although the most popular items (city directories, old phone books, maps, microfilm, etc.) are located in an area where they can be browsed. Microfilm machines are still readily available. To access reference materials it is necessary to set up an appointment and tell the staff what items you want to look at. Make use of the library's catalog to compile your wish list and then call 918-549-7421 to schedule your visit. You will find the staff very helpful.

Tulsa County Courthouse
500 S. Denver Ave
Tulsa, OK 74103-3835
Phone: (918) 596-5000
Directions and parking and Map of parking lots. This is not all the parking lots but it will give you and idea.
A list of departments at the courhouse
There is very little free parking closer than 2 or 3 blocks. Be prepared to pay about 5.00 to park (although that is for a full day at most lots) and most lots require cash. Check out the lots on the east side of Denver across from the plaza that separates the Courthouse from the Library before going to the parking lots listed on the websites.
If you intend to have copies made at the courthouse be prepared to pay by cash or check. The courthouse does not accept credit cards for copies. For other business in the courthouse check the department's information on the above link or call the department you will be visiting to find out its method of acceptable payment.
Some of the courthouse records are not housed at the courthouse. If you want copies (or to look at) probate, will or divorce records don't pay 5.00 to park because you will only need to be in the courthouse long enough to consult the indexes to obtain a case number(s). You will need the case number to obtain the records at the storage warehouse located at 2929B East Apache, Tulsa, OK 74110. The warehouse is hard to find as it is a metal building that does not front on Apache. The probate department (on the 2nd floor of the courthouse) has free maps with directions to the warehouse (the same place you will find the probate/will indexes.) Copies at the warehouse are 1.00 a page and copies of a full divorce file runs about 40.00. Parking is free at the warehouse.
If you want to research property / land records go here for information.
