Brookside is a community in south Tulsa. It probably never had a post office and is now a part of Tulsa proper. Brookside begins around 35th street South and runs to 51st Street south along Peoria Ave (the original Brookside area stopped at 41st street). The area includes a few blocks on the east and west side of Peoria but most people consider the area fronting on Peoria to be Brookside. This area of Peoria was known as the "restless ribbon" in the 50s when teenagers cruised up and down Peoria thru the Brookside area. The main attraction at the time was Pennington's Drive-Inn. A "must stop at" spot for southside teens in the 50s. The area now has many small shops and eateries.
