[TCHS] "Another town closely associated with Bixby was Fry, located just north of Bixby. Fry served the surrounding trade area when the only way to get back and forth across the Arkansas was by means of the Shellenberger ferry. Named for Robert Fry, early-day resident. The Fry location has been annexed into Bixby but nothing is left of the town itself."

Robert Fry is mentioned several times in Hall's Beginning of Tulsa and in the 1906 special edition of the Broken Arrow Ledger
