Located on Greenwood Ave between East Laitmer Street and Pine Street (close to the original Tulsa downtown area).
The Greenwood community was known as "Black Wall Street". A predominately Black community Greenwood was once one of the most affluent Africia American Communities in the United States with a population of over 10,000 people. The Tulsa Race Riot of 1921 destroyed most of the buildings in Greenwood. Today there are multiple reminders of that time located in and around the Greenwood district.
