Cities/Towns
of Tulsa County OK
A special thanks to Mike Taylor (Ghost Towns of Oklahoma) for allowing me to use his map locations and some of his town names.
Name and post office information from: Oklahoma Place Names: by George H. Shirk (University of Oklahoma Press. 1965)
Historical (TCHS) information is from the publication: Tulsa County Historic Sites July 1982 - Prepared by the Community Planning Division Indian Nations Council of Governments for the Tulsa County Historical Society (Financed in part with Federal funds ...) This booklet contains a lot more information than I've used on the town pages.
Some of the towns included below are noted on this Old Railroad map of Tulsa along with this 1915 railroad map
Map Locations listed below (and on town pages) can be located using the Tulsa County Section, Township, Range maps found on the USGenWeb Oklahoma site. And, this Tulsa County township map.
[If you are unfamiliar with land records, open how sections are numbered within a township in a new window or tab. Keeping it open will make it much easier to locate the correct section in the Map Locations below]The USGS locations were found at OK Home Town Locator - Tulsa County and at LatLong.net - Tulsa County
