Maps Oklahoma is a "Public Domain" state. In simple terms this means all land in Oklahoma was granted by the Federal Government and the state is laid out in Section, Township and Range grids. Every piece of land in Oklahoma has an "Abstract". This is a document that contains a record of everything that has happened to that particular piece of property - from the original grant by the Federal Government to the most current deed. If the current owner has a mortgage on their property their Abstract is found at one of the local Abstract office. Most of the Abstract offices will check a given Abstract for information for you but most will not copy the whole abstract (which would cost a small fortune anyway). Some offices are really hard to deal with and won't look up anything for you.Tulsa County is found in Sections 16-22 North, Ranges 10-14 East.
