Grotto Theatre

The Grotto Theater was located on the west side of North Peoria directly across from Cherokee School.

Below is the "Grotto Theatre." On the right you see the 'Malt Shop" (in earlier years it was Doc Young's Service Station). Photo was taken in 1953 by Jim Carpenter from Claremore. Jim did not attend school at Turley, but was in the vicinity one Sunday and snapped this photo (evidently was out chasing girls). He was kind enough to send me this photo. The only other photo I have of the theatre is in the background of the photo. Thanks Jim.
